How to put your own pages on the Web


GENERAL INFORMATION
  • You must be a full member of NetAxis. Pages are for personal use only, with a restriction of 2 MB total storage, and 1MB per day of transfer off the server. Excess storage/usage will be charged at commercial rates.
  • Your URL will look like: http://www.netaxis.ca/people/[you] , [you] being the first part of your email address. If you wish to use a different name, a monthly fee of $1.00 will charged.
  • Email, call (514) 482-8989 or (888) 482-8989 giving the name you wish to be listed by.

HOW DO I TRANSFER MY PAGES?
  • Write your pages. The top level page is index.html. You can include pictures (.gif, or .jpg)
  • Check out how to create HTML pages.
  • Test your pages. Repeatedly update and transfer changes.
  • Transfer the pages to NetAxis using FTP. We recommend the use of WS_FTP LE, you can get it for free on TUCOWS' website.

HOW DO I USE WS_FTP?
  • Clic on NEW to create a new profile and give it a name.
  • Write the required information and clic on OK to save the new profile.
  • Make sure you transfer images in Binary.
  • Text files can be transfered as ASCII or Binary, so to avoid mistakes it's better to transfer everything as Binary.
